Where does the tune data come from?

All settings and ABC notation are sourced from thesession.org.

Does MyTunes work offline?

Yes. Once your collection is built, the core app works offline. Only sheet music, audio playback, and audio quiz need an internet connection. Your collections keep available during sessions in places with no signal.

Which instruments is it designed for?

MyTunes is instrument-agnostic: any musician can use it.

Is the app free?

The core app is free to download and use. An optional Supporter Badge is available as an in-app purchase. This unlocks unlimited collections in the app.

How does the quiz mode work?

The quiz plays the first notes of a tune and asks you to identify it by name. Answer correctly on the first attempt and you earn a star. There also other kinds of quiz that help you learn.

Which platforms are supported?

MyTunes is available on iOS (iPhone and iPad) and Android. Both versions are built from the same codebase and receive updates simultaneously.

Privacy Policy

This application saves your data locally on your device.

Optionally, you can request a cloud save of your data. In this case, your data is stored on Google's servers in France. We don't sell your data to any company.

If you use the cloud backup, your Google identifier is stored with all your collection data. Your account name and e-mail are received from Google and we don't store them.

If you installed this application from Google Play, Google may collect some personal data.

If you installed this application from Apple App Store, Apple may collect some personal data.

If you purchase some product from the application, the purchase is processed by Google Play Store or Apple App Store under their own privacy terms.

MyTunes is a mobile application designed to help you learn, organize, and practice Irish and folk traditional music. By using MyTunes, you agree to these terms.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for your data
You agree not to misuse the app, including attempting to reverse-engineer or extract content
You must comply with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction

Content and Intellectual Property

Tune data is sourced from TheSession.org and remains subject to their licensing terms
User-created collections (custom tune groupings) are your own, but you grant MyTunes the right to store and sync them across your devices
You may not redistribute tune content outside the app's intended personal use
ABC notation rendering is provided by abcjs; audio playback uses standard synthesized instruments

External Recording Links

MyTunes allows you to save links to audio recordings hosted on third-party platforms
We do not provide direct access to those platforms, nor do we host the recordings
You are solely responsible for complying with the terms of use and copyright policies of any external platform linked in the app
MyTunes assumes no liability for content, availability, or legality of external recordings
The presence of a link in the app does not constitute our endorsement or guarantee of access

In-App Purchases

Non-refundable except where required by law (App Store / Google Play policies apply)
Purchases grant you access to specified features; they do not grant ownership
Your subscription or purchase status is tied to your app store account (Google Play Store OR Apple App Store). It cannot be transferred from one to another.

MyTunes is provided "as is" without warranty. We do not guarantee:

Uninterrupted service or bug-free operation
Accuracy of tune data from external sources
Audio quality or fidelity of playback

Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for data loss, device damage, or indirect damages resulting from app use.
